The American Red Cross is helping families more than a week after the tragic mudslide in Oso, Washington. We have mental and spiritual care volunteers to assist families who have lost ones or are still waiting to hear about the missing. In a partnership with Southern Baptist Disaster Relief, we have handed out comfort items and served 15,000 meals and snacks during this tragic event. Red Cross workers are also assisting families to create individual recovery plans.
We thank everyone who has supported Oso and their community during this emotionally draining time. If you’re looking for a way to help the families and victims in their time of need, your donations are allowing the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Team to immediately respond to the needs of Oso with food, shelter, recovery support, and mental health services.
Please donate now to help those near and abroad by calling 1-800-RED CROSS, texting the word REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation, mailing a donation form, or using our online service. We will continue to work closely with other community groups to best determine how we can help not only now, but in the months to come.
