We’re thoroughly excited to welcome two new team members! Clara Barton would be proud to see the continued growth and contributors who make our missions.
Jennifer Messana – American Red Cross of West Central Ohio
Greetings and welcome to Jennifer, the new Disaster Program Manager for West Central Ohio, operating out of Lima. Jennifer made the journey south from Richmond, Michigan into Ohio. She earned her MPA at Western Michigan University and brings experience with her from Southeastern Michigan Health Association in Detroit and the Macomb County Health Department. And don’t worry: she has previous experience in emergency preparedness, disaster plan development, and disaster response.
Her talents don’t end with helping those in their hour of need; she’s also the lead singer of a cover band called NIGHTFALL. When not singing, she enjoys spending time with her 5-year-old Australian Shepard/Border Collie mix, Maggie Sue. And get this: she’s also a jewel/metalwork artist — how cool is that?!
Jessica Zercher – American Red Cross of Northwest Ohio
Jessica is the new Disaster Program Manager for Northwest Ohio. Jessica comes to Ohio from Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania and is currently working on her master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling. Jessica is no stranger to the mission and work of the American Red Cross. She served as a Disaster Action Team (DAT) captain and emergency services specialist in Central Pennsylvania for ten years.
She is married with two children and loves spending time with her family. The Ohio terrain welcomes her to explore her love for outdoor activities like mountain biking and hiking. She also enjoys curling up to a good book. You’re likely to catch Jessica reading James Patterson.
Welcome to the team, ladies!
