Earlier this week, we provided assistance to residents living in the Alpha Tower apartment complex due to sprinkler system malfunction late Monday evening. A mandatory evacuation of the residency left more than 150 people – many of them senior citizens – in need of temporary shelter. Thanks to your generosity – our helpful community and partners, staff and volunteers – we were able to provide cots, blankets, pillows, water, and meals free of charge to more than fifty affected elderly residents. Additionally, our friends at Toledo-Lucas County Health Department and The Area Office on Aging of Northwestern Ohio, Inc. provided on-location response from medical to mental support.
This collaboration and teamwork helped our community when they needed it the most.
